Pintu Mahara: The Boatman Who Made ₹30 Crore at Maha Kumbh
Pintu Mahara, a boatman from Prayagraj, achieved remarkable success during Maha Kumbh 2025. His efforts caught the attention of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who praised his dedication. Through careful planning and sheer determination, he managed to earn ₹30 crore in just 45 days.
A Vision Inspired by Ardh Kumbh
His inspiration came from the 2019 Ardh Kumbh when boatmen made significant earnings due to the high influx of pilgrims. Recognizing the potential of Maha Kumbh, he anticipated an even larger gathering and began preparing early.
Overcoming Financial Struggles
Mahara faced financial challenges while turning his idea into reality. With limited resources, he took loans and mortgaged family gold to build 70 boats. His determination pushed him forward despite the difficulties. It took him six months to complete the boats and prepare for the grand event.
Hard Work and Team Effort
Managing the large-scale operation was not easy. He hired 300 people to assist devotees with boat rides and bathing arrangements. A team of 250 boatmen worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth experience for the pilgrims. His entire family played a role in the effort, making it a collective achievement.
Defying Critics
Despite opposition claims that boatmen were exploited, Mahara remained firm in his belief that their hard work paid off. He emphasized that his community earned well and benefited greatly from the event.
Faith and Gratitude
He credited his success to unwavering faith and dedication. His achievement not only transformed his family’s financial situation but also uplifted the entire boatmen community. His journey stands as an inspiring example of how perseverance and vision can lead to extraordinary success.
