Anurag Srivastava Bags PM’s Excellence Award for Solar Innovation
Anurag Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary of the Namami Gange department, will receive the prestigious Prime Minister’s award for public administration in 2023. He earned the recognition for his innovative use of solar power in Uttar Pradesh’s Jal Jeevan Mission projects.
The center will honor Srivastava in the “innovation-state” category. His efforts have boosted the sustainability of rural water supply schemes.
Srivastava, a 1992-batch IAS officer, introduced solar-powered solutions in water supply systems. This step has made the Jal Jeevan Mission more efficient and eco-friendly.
The central government informed UP Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh about the award. V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Ministry of Personnel, shared the news on Wednesday.
In his letter, Srinivas praised Srivastava’s dedication and commitment. He highlighted the officer’s role in ensuring efficient solar-powered water systems.
The award ceremony will take place on April 10 in New Delhi. Srivastava’s work sets a benchmark for innovation in public service.
