Illegal Migration an Eye-Opener, Punjab CM Urges Youth to Stay
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann urged the youth to avoid illegal migration. Citing the recent deportation of migrants from the USA, he advised them to focus on opportunities within Punjab. He called on them to work hard and contribute to the state’s progress.
Speaking at a sports tournament, Mann highlighted Punjab’s fertile land and potential. He blamed previous governments for forcing youth to seek opportunities abroad. However, he assured that the current government is creating better prospects within the state.
50,000 Government Jobs and Reverse Migration
Mann revealed that his government has provided over 50,000 government jobs on merit in the last three years. He said this is the first time in Punjab’s history that so many youth have secured jobs in such a short period. More opportunities are on the way.
He added that Punjab is witnessing reverse migration. Many youth are now returning from abroad to take up government jobs. Transparent recruitment has restored their faith in working for Punjab. Educational institutions are also seeing increased admissions, reversing the trend of students moving abroad.
Strengthening Punjab Police with More Jobs
To enhance the police force and create more jobs, the government will recruit 1,800 constables and 300 sub-inspectors annually. Over 2.5 lakh candidates are expected to apply for these positions. Mann announced that an additional 10,000 cops will be recruited soon.
Promoting Sports to Fight Drugs
Mann emphasized that promoting sports is a key strategy to combat drug abuse. He said sports help channel youth energy into productive activities. He highlighted the Khedan Watan Punjab Dian, an annual sports event that identifies and nurtures talent for national and international competitions.
Commitment to Punjab’s Progress
Mann criticized traditional political parties, accusing them of misleading the public. He said his government is focused on delivering real development, not empty promises. He assured that Punjab will continue to see positive changes under his leadership.
During the event, the Chief Minister announced grants worth over ₹1 crore for village development. This includes an Aam Aadmi Clinic, solar lights, a community hall, and a water treatment plant.
