Delivery Man Killed Over iPhone Delivery, Body Dumped in Canal
A 30-year-old delivery man was tragically killed in Lucknow while delivering an iPhone. The police reported that two individuals were responsible for the crime. They strangled the delivery man and dumped his body into the Indira Canal. A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has been called in to search for the victim’s body.
iPhone Delivery Gone Wrong
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shashank Singh, the incident began when Gajanan, a resident of Chinhat, ordered an iPhone worth ₹1.5 lakh from Flipkart. He selected the cash-on-delivery (COD) option.
On September 23, delivery man Bharat Sahu from Nishatganj went to deliver the phone. Unfortunately, Gajanan and his accomplice had no intention of paying. Instead, they allegedly strangled Sahu and placed his body in a sack. The suspects then disposed of the body in the Indira Canal.
Missing Persons Complaint Filed
When Bharat Sahu didn’t return home for two days, his worried family filed a missing person complaint on September 25 at Chinhat police station. Police began investigating by tracing Sahu’s call records, which led them to Gajanan’s number and his associate Akash.
Suspects Confess
During interrogation, Akash reportedly confessed to the crime. The police are now searching for Sahu’s body in the canal, but it has not yet been recovered.
Search Operation Continues
“The State Disaster Response Force is actively searching the Indira Canal for the victim’s body,” stated DCP Shashank Singh. Authorities are continuing their efforts to bring closure to this tragic incident.
