When the police moved to arrest Irshad, he reportedly fired at them. However, the officers managed to capture him.

Varanasi senior police officer Gaurav Bansal said, “CCTV footage confirmed the accused tried to abuse the girl. She screamed and resisted, and he killed her. Further investigation is underway.”
