
Police Arrested Two Smugglers in Ferozepur with 3.2 kg Heroin
In a major crackdown, Punjab police arrested two drug smugglers on Friday and seized 3.2 kg of heroin from their possession.
Senior Superintendent of Police Saumya Mishra said that a police team from Kulgarhi was conducting routine checks near Saidan Wala village. They received a tip-off about two drug smugglers transporting heroin in a car.
The accused, identified as Ajaypal Singh from Tarn Taran and Gurjinder Singh from Ferozepur, were reportedly traveling from Malwal Qadeem village toward the Ferozepur-Zira road.
The police quickly set up a checkpoint and intercepted the duo’s Baleno car. Upon searching the vehicle, officers recovered 3.2 kg of heroin.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug smuggling in the region. Authorities have intensified patrolling and vehicle checks in Ferozepur to tackle the drug menace.
