Rajnath Singh Participates in Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Prayagraj on Saturday to join the Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the world’s largest religious events. He began his day with a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythological Saraswati rivers converge.
Sacred Rituals and Key Visits
Singh performed religious rituals at significant sites, including Akshaya Vat, Patalpuri Temple, Saraswati Kund, and the Hanuman Temple. These rituals are integral to the Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13 and will continue until February 26, 2025.
Massive Crowds for Amrit Snan
Saturday marked the sixth day of the event, with devotees gathering for the auspicious Amrit Snan. This ritual, considered spiritually cleansing, is a highlight of the Kumbh Mela. The first Amrit Snan took place on January 14 during Makar Sankranti. The second and third are scheduled for January 29 (Mauni Amavasya) and February 3 (Basant Panchami), respectively.
Safety Measures in Place
To ensure safety during the sacred baths, over 220 NDRF and SDRF divers have been deployed, along with 700 boats. Security forces, including water police and PAC personnel, are working in shifts to monitor the vast gathering. Healthcare teams are also on-site to address medical needs.
Enhanced Accommodations for Visitors
The Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) has improved lodging facilities for the growing number of pilgrims and tourists. A deluxe 300-bed dormitory has been set up within the Mela area, offering comfortable accommodations.
Yogi Adityanath’s Inspection
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is closely monitoring arrangements to ensure smooth operations during the event. His efforts aim to guarantee a safe and fulfilling experience for all attendees.
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 continues to attract millions of devotees, reflecting India’s deep spiritual heritage and meticulous planning for such a monumental gathering.
