Sonbhadra to Become Green Energy Hub: Yogi Adityanath
On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized Sonbhadra’s importance as the “power capital” of the state, revealing plans to transform the district into a green energy hub through solar power projects. He assured that the state government was committed to the overall development of Sonbhadra.
Major Investments and Job Creation
Speaking at the closing ceremony of MLA Sports’ Mahakumbh in Sonbhadra, the CM highlighted the significant strides being made in the district’s development. He announced that Sonbhadra had received investment proposals totaling ₹1,97,000 crore at the recent Global Investors Summit. These investments, he added, are expected to create employment opportunities for around 40,000 people.
Promoting Sports and Community Engagement
The CM also took the opportunity to encourage sports and community engagement. He praised the efforts of participants, especially senior citizens in the tug of war competition and girls excelling in Kabaddi. He emphasized that events like the MLA Khel Mahakumbh, held from December 25, 2024, to January 16, 2025, should be replicated in every district to further promote the state’s sports culture.
Commitment to Healthcare and Local Entrepreneurship
Yogi Adityanath also acknowledged the establishment of a medical college in Sonbhadra, which he credited to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. Additionally, he praised local women for their entrepreneurial skills, citing the creation of “Son Soap” as an excellent example of innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
Encouraging Sports Excellence
The Chief Minister reinforced the importance of sports in uplifting the community, stating that more than 500 players had been given government jobs to support their careers. He expressed confidence that events like the MLA Khel Mahakumbh would take the state’s sports culture to new heights and inspire the next generation of athletes.
