Yogi Adityanath’s Clear Warning
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sent a strong message to the Waqf Board. He stated that anyone coming to Maha Kumbh to claim land would face “denting-painting.” His remarks came during an Aaj Tak event.
The Chief Minister welcomed those who respect Indian traditions. He noted that many people whose ancestors converted to Islam still embrace Indian culture. “If they come to take a dip in the Ganga, there is no issue,” he said. “But land claims won’t be tolerated.”
Response to Waqf Land Claim
Adityanath’s comments responded to a claim by Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi. The All India Muslim Jammat (AIMJ) president alleged that the Maha Kumbh preparations were on Waqf land. He criticized the restriction of Muslim entry, calling for open-mindedness.
No Discrimination Assured
The Chief Minister emphasized fairness during Maha Kumbh. He assured no discrimination while vowing to reclaim every inch of land taken under the guise of Waqf. “The Kumbh symbolizes India’s heritage, not Waqf’s property,” he asserted.
Maha Kumbh 2025 Overview
The Maha Kumbh, the world’s largest spiritual gathering, begins on January 13, 2025. Millions of devotees are expected in Prayagraj, with the event running until February 26. Adityanath reiterated his government’s commitment to preserving the sanctity of the celebration.
